How To Buy Jewelry For Christmas Or Holiday Gifts

A little bit clueless on what to get your daughter, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, or best friend? It’s a big list if you have more than a few people to shop for, and sometimes it’s hard to pick out that perfect thing if you don’t have a clue to what purses they like, clothing brands they wear, or if they like hats or not. One thing that you can never go wrong with is jewelry. If you don’t know the person you’re planning on giving it to well, there are some simple ways to make it the perfect gift that she’ll just adore.

For all ages, turquoise jewelry is coming back into style. A Turquoise Stone Toggle Bracelet is one of the many stunning pieces that can be gifted to someone. Five large oval turquoise stones set in sterling silver will look stunning with any style of clothing (i.e more casual to more formal) and no matter the age. If you’re shopping for someone a bit younger, lets say your teenage daughter, or she’s shopping for her best friend, a Braided Leather Bracelet with Lapis and Turquoise Beads is a fashionable choice. This bracelet is more of a sporty, casual item compared to the toggle bracelet. Another couple of pieces of jewelry that are for the younger ages, these being anywhere between a teenager to late twenties, are the Woof Bead and Turquoise Bracelet and Necklace. Both of these items have alternating beads of oval wood, wafers, and turquoise giving a stylish look for more casual apparel. These can be worn in the office, to school, and just to go out.

Another piece for any age is the Turquoise Cultured Freshwater Pearl Necklace (with 14K Gold Beads). This necklace comes in its own gift pouch and is a beautiful piece for any place. The pearls and turquoise stand out against one another making the necklace an eye grabber. For some earrings to go along with it why not try Pear Shape Chinese Turquoise Earrings? These earrings have sterling silver French wire ‘fishhooks’ and match perfectly with silver jewelry or more turquoise.

So as you can see, this year, turquoise and silver is the way to go with jewelry gifts. There’s some for the young, the slightly aged, and those who are still young at heart. All turquoise jewelry is unique because no stone is perfectly alike. So if you’re a husband looking for his wife, a mother looking for her daughter or mother, or a son/daughter looking for their mother, a one of a kind stone is the wonderful choice.

Crystal Jewelry Designs

Crystal is one of the best materials to not only wear but to work with as it possesses timeless beauty and is also relatively inexpensive. However, depending on the type of material, it is also durable. There are numerous ways to use crystal depending on the crystal type. Raw crystal without shape or polish can be altered as per your desire. You can wrap it into a pendant. Wire wrapping is easy and you can use any wire as this serves the specific purpose. You can use the crystal pendant on silver, gold, hemp or even a leather thong. A craft supplier will have numerous varieties of wire and you can select the best of it to make an ideal jewelry.

Determining, whether you desire to make a crystal pendant or not is the focal point for your jewelry design. It is necessary to ensure that the wire suits the rest of the piece and does not spar other parts of the jewelry. To wrap the crystal, you need to make a base on the top and this base is done by interweaving the wire on the crystal base and tightening it. This is then woven on a wire and is mounted on a pendant. Twisting the loop few times makes it more secure and if you do not wish to work using wire or in case the wrapping does not fit the overall crystal jewelry composition, purchasing end caps from jewelry suppliers is ideal. These caps can be glued on the crystal top.

Purchasing crystals that are available in the beaded form is apposite. The crystals are polished or faceted and normally cost relatively more than the raw crystal. However, the use of any worked crystal is more than the raw crystal. Crystal beads act as separators for focal pieces and the faceted crystal beads become a part of your focal design. Crystal beads are available in various sizes and shapes ranging from minuscule to enormous beads. The durability of the crystal is also making it popular and as flowers and animals are carved in crystals, it is nice to use it as jewelry design.

The only material that can be compared is glass. However, glass is susceptible to damage and chipping and crystal excels in coloration as well. The Quartz crystal comes in rainbow colors and the popular crystal quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, smoky quartz agate and many such countless kinds are easily available.

Crystal bridal jewelry sets also make elegantly beautiful bridal jewelry for not only the bride but the bridal party too.

Bridal Jewelry For Your Wedding Day

A bride is the most important person in her wedding and naturally the bridal jewelry is always significant. A bride who adores all modern and chic looking things and prefers trendy items than traditional, will definitely desire a wedding jewelry that will reflect all the modern definitions. A basic pearls strand is a great choice for a classic bride, but definitely a modern bride should be on a lookout for handmade wedding jewelry that has a unique twist. Before choosing bridal design jewelry, you should decide your bridal gown. Choosing your bridal gown allows you to pick pieces that can complement your dress.

Bridal design jewelry dealing with handmade wedding jewelry can be customized to suit your style. For instance, you may like a necklace, but the drop may be conservative and short. Here in a handmade wedding jewelry, you can ask the designer to make the drop bold and fabulous and make it a perfect bridal jewelry set. But on the contrary, if your wedding gown has halter neckline, skipping a necklace is better. Instead you can concentrate on stunning earrings with a couple of bracelets. If you wish to look dramatic, then opt for chandelier earrings. For elegant and sleek look, earrings with extra thin and long drop will be apposite.

There is another significant way to make your bridal design jewelry a grand jewelry and this is done effectively by adding color. White is traditional and so adding a colorful accent such as blue elevates the jewelry. Similarly, colors such as smoky topaz as well as pewter transform your jewelry to chic and stylish from traditional. Deep colors like burgundy, aubergine and bronze are striking for an evening wedding. Handmade jewelry for bride takes a novel look when created with crystal cubes. You can choose organic shape designed pieces such as coin pearls. This unique bridal jewelry is natural and has an uncontrived effect making it ideal bridal design jewelry.

Bridal design jewelry need not be specific only for the bride. Instead, giving bridesmaid gift to your attendants will suit them perfectly and they would also love to have it. However, selecting modern bridal design jewelry should be such that it should be wearable for a very long period. A beautiful necklace or a chandelier earring that is not the matter, as this is your wedding; the bridal design jewelry is truly personal. You will want it to suit your style and personality making it the right choice.

Suze Orman On Oprah Show

If you have a chance, you absolutely must tune into the Oprah show today and listen to Suze Orman. About 10 years ago, my husband and I were experiencing financial difficulties and a friend happened to give me a book by Suze Orman - it changed my life. If all couples starting out today could start off with just a little bit of the financial knowledge needed to have a happy marriage - my work would be done.

The book that made such a huge impact on me and has helped propel me to where I am today is titled “The 9 Steps To Financial Freedom” - you can get this book and others by Suze Orman by clicking the image here:

There really is so much more to life than being rich and sometimes it takes an outsider to put it all in perspective for us.

How To Buy An Engagement Ring

Ready to pop the question? Need to know how to buy the right engagement ring? We’ve got a few tips and suggestions to help you out and have you all set by the time you have your engagement party!

Make sure that you know about the 4-C’s by doing a little research. The 4 C’s are cut, clarity, carat and color. Also educate yourself on the types of metals that are available in an engagement ring and notice what type of jewelry your fiance to be is wearing now. Does she prefer yellow gold? Maybe platinum? Choosing a metal that compliments the jewelry she already wears is a smart way to decide

If you really want to make sure she’ll love the engagement ring, why not let her pick it out herself? You can spend a day browsing jewelry stores both online and in the city you live in. Pay attention to the style and design of the rings she particularly likes then you can go and purchase a ring she will be sure to love!

Price. The most important thing to remember is to purchase a ring that you as a couple can afford. There is not set budget and the so called “rule” that says two or three months salary was created by the diamond industry. Choose a ring that you can afford right now and if you choose too, you can upgrade in the future.

I have found that a fantastic place to get a good deal on an engagement ring is actually Amazon. Take a look at the great engagement ring set above. Very pretty, and affordable too.

Engagement Party Favors

Did you just get engaged or are you throwing the engagement party for a lucky couple?  We just have to tell you about some absolutely adorable engagement party favors!

One absolutely adorable party favor is the engagement ring party favor.  No other symbol states engagement like an engagement ring so what better favor to give to guests at an engagement party.  Adorable “10 Carats” of whimsical fun, this party favor will surely put a smile on every guest’s face.  The ring has key and heart charms also attached.

Another great party favor for an engagement party is any favor that reflects the persona of the couple.  Do they like to sail?  Nautical party favors such as sailboat party favors, lighthouse party favors or any other party favor that reminds you of the sea.

Do they LOVE Vegas or poker?  Then casino party favors are a must for this couple.  Choose from bookmarks, candles, decks of cards and more that definitely reflect a casino or poker night.

Fun favors are a fantastic way to cap off a fun engagement party.

October Wedding? How About A Halloween Theme?

Some may agree that their favorite holiday is Halloween. What better way to celebrate than by dressing up as those you admire most, or desire to be, even if for only one day. And this one day could be your wedding day. What a nifty little way to celebrate your special day, with your special holiday.

Well, step one is all ready done and accounted for: the date. October 31st, and you
don’t have to worry about much else when it comes to that area. Your main concern now should be whether or not you want to splurge on that wedding dress, or the perfect wedding jewelry splurge for that French maid costume.

This brings me to my next point. If you are choosing to celebrate your day on Halloween, do you want a typical wedding, or do you want a Halloween costume party? Would you really want a fancy celebration, or would you rather Dracula and Frankenstein crashing your party? And how amusing would it be if our bride and groom are actually Bonnie and Clyde?

Point number three; what shall you serve your guests for dinner? If you decide to go with the Halloween party, would you rather stick with the standard food, or is gross humor a factor of yours? Most Halloween parties feature some sort of delicious food shaped in a disgusting feature. For instance, we’ll focus on your wedding cake, which you can shape into a brain, and have red goo pour out as you make the first cut.

And last but not least, how about some trick or treating for your guests. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be candy, but it can be cute little wedding favors, and this is a fun way to hand them over. Instead of the typical: place them on the table.

In the end, happy Halloween to all the ghouls and ghosts that may show up to reek havoc on your blessed day. But if you really take this into consideration, its what the day is meant to be, so why not play it up?
