Alternative Wedding Themes - Tattooed Brides

Are you one of the [many] women with tattoos on their back, arms, neck, and even possibly chest? Not only are you one of those women, but are you about to get married? This isn’t as big as a problem as most think, so don’t you worry. If you love your tattoos, there is no reason to attempt to hide your tattoos under make up or clothing if you don’t wish to do so, instead why not incorporate the tattoos into the wedding?

Lets say you have a colored tattooed visible to others if you are wearing a strapless gown [which happens to be the very gown you fell in love with, but are unsure of wearing it due to said tattoo(s)] why not add the colors into your wedding. A splash of yellow, red, purple, or black, could be added to the details of the dress, wedding decorations, flowers, or tables. It could even be as simple as offering wedding favors that go along with your tattoo(s). After all, as a bride there is no reason why a passion such as body art should be a problem to have the perfect, elegant wedding.

Tattoos have been a part of weddings before, leaving the bride riddled with henna tattoos on their hands and arms, so this could be another thing to add to your wedding- getting your bridesmaids to have henna tattoos [or they may already be tattooed]. There are so many different ideas to play along with while being a tattooed bride, the idea of wearing white may not be for you, or you want to expose your tattoos even more than normal. Not only to mention you may want to have a near traditional wedding with your husband to be. All these ideas can still be pulled off without worry! You as the bride could get your bridesmaids to wear dresses that match their tattoos, or even the colors of yours.

Buying a dress is never easy, but making it your own is half the fun, adding a little bit of trim [if so desired] can be the deal sealer when it comes to visible tattoos tying into it, and doing this to the bridesmaids dresses can make them feel more apart of the wedding than before with their own little details that don’t have to match the other dresses.

Lets not forget about what the tattooed bride can do with color, most tattoo artists, and people who enjoy tattoos, have a sense of creativity about them that they may not have fully tapped into. A wedding is a perfectly good time to do this and explore your creativity. Colors are eye catching, play with the mind and senses, not to mention creating a whole new environment that wasn’t there before.

Flowers that match the colors in the tattoo, or that are in contrast of the tattoo can really bring a setting together. What would be even more interesting is if the bride had flowers tattooed on her and she incorporated those flowers in the wedding.

So lets not worry our heads off if we have tattoos that can be seen. It’s just a minor bump in the road that can make your wedding more special and more a piece of you than ever. So take another look at your tattoos, if you have them, and see what you can make of it- and how to make it into a fantastic, one of the kind, wedding that no one will forget.

Summer Wedding Themes

There are so very many things that need to be completed when planning a wedding.  Selecting a wedding theme is one of them.  If you are getting married in the summer, have you selected your wedding theme yet?

Some great options for summer weddings are:

  • Beach Theme.  What is more fun than a day at the beach?  Consider bringing this fun to your wedding by planning around a beach theme.  The reception can be held outdoors near the pool, lake, ocean, river or any body of water.  Decorate inexpensively with sea shells and the colors you would see at the beach such as blues, aquas, greens, and more.  Give adorable beach wedding favors such as a beach ball bottle stopper, sea shell place card holders or flip flop key chains to complete the theme.
  • Another great theme?  A Cherry Blossom wedding theme.  Cherry blossoms have special meaning in that they stand for virtue and new beginnings.  What could be a better new beginning than a wedding?  Use cherry blossoms throughout the ceremony and reception in your floral decorations.  Then for your guest, give them an a matching wedding favor such as a Cherry Blossom Love Coaster Set.

Choosing a summer wedding theme that you like will make the planning that much easier.

Wedding Themes - A Halloween Wedding Day

Some may agree that their favorite holiday is Halloween. What better way to celebrate than by dressing up as those you admire most, or desire to be, even if for only one day. And this one day could be your wedding day. What a nifty little way to celebrate your special day and your special holiday at the same time!

Well, step one is all ready done and accounted for – choosing the date. October 31st and you don’t have to worry about much else when it comes to that area. Your main concern now should be whether or not you want to splurge on that wedding dress, or splurge on that French maid costume.

Onto the next point. If you are choosing to celebrate your wedding day on Halloween, do you want a typical wedding, or do you want a Halloween costume party? Would you really want a fancy celebration, or would you rather Dracula and Frankenstein crash your party? And how amusing would it be if the bride and groom are actually Bonnie and Clyde?

Point number three - what shall you serve your guests for dinner? If you decide to go with the Halloween party, would you rather stick with the standard food, or is gross humor a factor of yours? Most Halloween parties feature some sort of delicious food shaped in a disgusting feature. For instance, we’ll focus on your wedding cake, which you can shape into a brain, and have red goo pour out as you make the first cut.

And last but not least, how about some trick or treating for your guests. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be candy, but it can be unique wedding favors or funky black Gothic wedding favors.  and this is a fun way to hand them over. Instead of handing them out to each guest, group them together on a table for guests to pick up on their way out.

In the end, happy Halloween to all the ghouls and ghosts that may show up to reek havoc on your blessed day. But if you really take this into consideration, it’s what the day is meant to be, so why not play it up?

Wedding Planning - Black And White Wedding

Black and white are two common colors in everyday life. Not only are they useful colors, they also look amazing when paired together. A black and white wedding could always be a fun theme to take on. And why not, these two pigments are always fun to play with!

One thing a black and white themed wedding should have is the black and white checkered floor, such a clichéd idea, but also an amazing one! Imagine the men in their black tuxes, and the women in black and white dresses spinning around on a black and white checkered floor. If you’re the type of bride that doesn’t care if you’re the only one wearing white or not, then you could always have all the women wearing white, and all the men wearing black, or vice versa. The theme can be carried over into the ceremony, and the after party. Time to paint a picture!

Now onto the wedding reception table decorations. Imagine walking into the ceremony room. Every chair in the room is covered with a black cloth, and tied in the back is a single white ribbon. The flooring can be simple wood, or tile, but these chairs on top of black and white checkered flooring would be a perfect combination. The walls are painted white, and thin sheer black curtains are draped from the ceiling. Scattered along the floors are white rose petals. The bride walks down the aisle in a white dress, accessorized with black jewelry. The ring bearer walks down as well, and underneath the wedding ring is a black and white ring bearer pillow. The groom is in a black suit, with a black shirt, only his tie is white. Perhaps a single white rose pinned on would be a nice idea. All of the bride maids are dressed in white as well, but their outfits will have more black to it, the groomsmen in black tuxes.

As we make our way into the celebration room, this room is also decked out in our black and white theme. The tables are all covered in white fabric, and the chairs are similar to that of the similar, just reversed colors. On all of the tables there is a black vase, and the only color in the room is in the vases, with a variety of flowers. Where each guest is to sit there is a small black card with the guest’s name printed in white. In the center is a small collection of candles in a cream color with black XOXO’s printed on the side. A black and white guest book is set to the side on a small end table for the guests to sign and leave their wishes for the couple. Black and white two of a kind heart shaped playing cards are perfect wedding party favors for the guests to take home with them to remember this celebration.

A black and white wedding is great for those that want to remain with traditional, but want to add more pizzazz to their wedding. Contemporary, and classic at the same time, a black and white wedding is perfect for any bride!

Tips For A Las Vegas Wedding

You have to wonder, Old Blue eyes Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr., these guys all did it, spent limits amount of days, once a time in place, where a hand shake actually meant something. A place where a mic, piano and the mellow voice of people who used lyrics like “half a love, never appealed to me, than I’d rather have nothing at all” is all you needed. Where did the days go? Like everything good, time changes what once was too good to be true but maybe, just maybe, some things do change for the better. Anyone who has spent time in Las Vegas usually have a moment, a moment that typically shows you why we call it ‘The Sin City” or what we admittingly say is the adults playground. All the pretentious and over priced monstrosities that people with too much money call hotels will probably do that to a person but if you look deep within the crevasses you will find something quite picturesque and beautiful, a Las Vegas wedding. Get some nice wedding gifts for your vegas crowd.

Not just a place to get eloped or mistakenly say I do after having the barrage of alcoholic beverages they serve you as you hit the tables, Las Vegas has really become a great place to have a wedding of your choice. From small intimate weddings to large extravagant weddings, the city that never sleeps can accommodate you with your dream wedding. In fact Las Vegas has the second most weddings per year in the world just behind Istanbul, Turkey with approximately 166,000. Las Vegas has also been a very popular honeymoon spot among its strong competitors, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Jamaica. If you are interested in some nice destination wedding favor then visit now.

As easy as it is to get hitched in Las Vegas, they also provide very interested ways to do so. You can say your I do’s as you fall ten thousand feet from the sky, or say I do to Elvis Presley in an Elvis wedding theme. You can have weddings with pretty much any theme you can think of. I guess the guys with too much money spending billions of dollars on hotels are on to something and a good point, bringing themes from all over the world such as the Eifel Tower and the Colosseum of Rome, allowing us to travel the world in the middle of the dessert. I guess the point is this; Las Vegas has become more than just a town in the middle of nowhere. You might not be able to shake Sinatra’s hand or see what it was like to stay at some of the first hotels like the Last Frontier, but we have to admit, Las Vegas is a great place. A place where your dreams can come true, a place where you can beat the house, and last but not least a place where you can have your Las Vegas wedding. If you are interested in some nice Vegas wedding favor then visit now!

Gothic Wedding Favors

We have recently added Gothic Themed Wedding Favors to our wedding favors catalog.  Gothic weddings reject all that is mainstream and common and have to be some of the most creative weddings I have ever attended.

Gothic weddings often have Medieval, Renaissance and Victorian inspiration.  The Goth bride can be resplendent in a burgundy Victorian inspired flowing gown and the wedding decorations complimentary in the same burgundy or black colors.

Choose to have your Gothic themed wedding in an older building to complete the effect.  Think primitive design with fireplaces, pewter, and antiques.  Most of all, enjoy planning your wedding to make sure you have your fantasy Goth Wedding.

Celebrity Weddings

How many of you have been following the wedding of Eva Longoria and Tony Parker? I was fascinated by it! She’s one of my favorite celebrities and my opinion is that they pulled off an elegant wedding. I loved everything about it - the red color theme, the bridesmaid dresses, the red wedding cake, and the destination wedding.

It’s easy to recreate what they did in the planning of your own wedding. Start by jotting down what you liked about your favorite celebrity’s wedding. Modify the details to your details. For example - is your wedding color blue? Look at everything Eva & Tony did in red, and imagine it in your blue color scheme.

Did you like the red cake? If so, imagine your wedding cake in blue. Too much? Maybe white with trailing blue flowers.

Like the wedding favor bags? You can do the same thing. Find the favor bag in your color, then fill it with your fiance’s and your favorite things. Not the elaborate $700 bracelet but your favorite chocolates, or if you’re having a beach wedding - seashells. See where this is going?

It just takes a little bit of creativity on your part to have just as elegant of a wedding but at a fraction of the cost.

Remember, take the details step by step.

Til next time!

Denise

Cinderella Fairytale Wedding

Every bride to be starts with an inspiration or thought as to how their wedding can be not only beautiful, but unique.  Inspiration may be found in day to day activities, magazines, hobbies, or even romance novels or fairtales.

To help out brides along, we’ll be publishing great wedding ceremony and wedding reception ideas to help inspire you to create the wedding of your dreams - whether you just needed a few new tips or find yourself loving one of our complete wedding themes and just need to make it yours.

One of our all time favorites is the Cinderella Fairytale Wedding.  Read on to see how one bride made her fairytale come true.

A Cinderella Wedding - Knights in Shiny Armor, Princess in Amazing White Gown.
A pure white dress, flowing down to the floor, a train of endless length following gracefully behind, the veil placed strategically under a crown fit for a queen. This is our Princess, and this is her fairytale wedding.
Just imagine walking into a ballroom draped in exquisite gold fabrics and a red carpet leading down to two thrones in the middle. Gold and silver chairs on both sides of the long red carpet. The carpet comes to an end at three steps leading up to a platform of gold and white, two tall thrones, decorated in jewels and dark colored cushions, sitting side-by-side, the prince standing before the left throne. A grand organ in the back right corner of the ballroom plays the wedding theme as the princess makes her way down the carpet, her long train following behind.
She is wearing a flowing gown, a long veil, a gold crown on top of the veil. She is simple, yet elegant, with a gold necklace around her neck, decorated with a charm, or maybe she prefers a stunning Victorian inspired pearl necklace set. The dress is white, maybe with a gold trim, white strapped heels decorate her feet. A gorgeous bouquet of white roses (bridal white signifies happy love), a small gold ribbon keeps these roses bundled together. The bridesmaids to the right are dressed in light colored Victorian ball gowns, long gloves matching their gowns, and each one is holding a single yellow rose in their hand (a yellow rose means “I care, and signifies friendship), the groomsmen to the left in white gloves and tuxes, all standing in front of the platform, but not blocking the stairs up. Victorian style jewelry would be perfect for these gorgeous bridesmaids. The prince is dressed in a tux as well, with white gloves on, but unlike his groomsmen, he has one white rose pinned to the front of his tux.
The couple give their final kiss, and turn to their audience. As the ceremony comes to a close, the couple walk side by side down the long red carpet, white rice being tossed into the air, not at our couple, and they go outside to be greeted by two white horses, and a round white carriage. The couple ride off in this Cinderella style carriage.
For the after party of the happy couple, the fairytale can be carried over to the wedding reception. The room can be costumed in a Victorian ball style; gold, deep red, and white would be the ideal colors. The tables can be draped in deep red cloth with gold trim, white plates on top, a bouquet of white and red roses (these two colors combined symbolize unity) in gold vases in the center of each table. The tables all surround a dance floor in the middle of the room, white and red rose petals scattered across, this will be where the couple shall share their first dance as a married couple and it should be special. A small stage beside the dance floor would be perfect for a small band. Most importantly, the couple, as well as their guests, should enjoy themselves, so dance the night away!  Don’t forget to thank your guests with Cinderella Wedding Favors so they’ll always remember your happily every after fairytale wedding.
